Jim started out in 1968 at KMPG Peat Marwick, handling projects with a heavy concentration in small business auditing and taxation and non-profit auditing.  While there he was a contributing author of the Industry Audit Guide on Governmental Auditing utilized by that firm.  It was the original precursor of the AICPA Industry Audit Guide.  He taught government auditing training for KPMG in Chicago, New York and Minnesota.

In 1976 Jim began his own firm; then in 1983 he founded Gorman & Ferolito CPAs, Inc., Cranston, RI, where he served as President until he merged his company with Dittmar and McNeil, CPAs, Inc.  During this same period (1979-1985) Jim was Adjunct Professor at Bryant College Graduate School Evening Division teaching Accounting for Non Profit Activities,.

Through the years, Jim has been involved in a multitude of small business, non-profit and governmental audits within the State of Rhode Island as well as one non-profit organization that is on a national level.  His experience includes a heavy concentration of personal tax advisory service and tax return preparation.

In his spare time, Jim can be found singing and/or playing guitar with The Calamari Brothers or The Mad Hatters, performing hits from the fifties and sixties.
